Clearwater FL – Wedding – Brian + Renee

“No doubt you saw the whole pretty picture in detail. The young prince bowing to the assembly. Suddenly, he stops. He looks up. For lo… there she stands. The girl of his dreams. Who she is or whence she came, he knows not, nor does he care, for his heart tells him that here, here is the maid predestined to be his bride.” – Grand Duke – Cinderella 1950

The last wedding of 2012 found us celebrating with Brian and Renee as they tied the knot at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo FL. Even though we live in GA, Seven hours further south gives us an easy 10 degree boost, and I was ready for some warmer weather.  This wedding was going to be a first for us as my 10 year old daughter, who has been asking to help shoot a wedding with us,  is going to be joining Rosanne and I.

The day started out with Renee, her sister and her mom sharing some girl time at the hair salon.  After the salon, the girls headed back to what will be Brian and Renee’s home, to complete the transformation process.   Renee, in true princes fashion, is beautiful inside and out.  Watching her interaction with her Dad and Mom and the bridesmaids was something special.  The joy that Renee expressed doing her attendants hair was undeniable and witnessing the care expressed back to her from those attending her was a testimony of the love of all involved.

Meanwhile, back at the hotel, The guys were getting ready in the suite.  Brian’s groomsmen, his dad, and Renee’s dad all gathered at the hotel. I was able to capture a couple of shots of Brian getting ready with his dad before heading over to the botanical gardens to wait for his bride for the “first look”.

Brian and Renee chose to have their first look at the Botanical gardens across the road from the Indian Rocks Baptist Church.  Renee’s father and Mother walked her over the bridge to the start of the path where, midway down the path, facing the other way, Her groom to be stood all alone…waiting.  The wedding day can be a whirlwind, but for a couple of minutes, all else stops, the worries and busyness of the day are swallowed up in anticipation and joy, as the Bride approaches her groom, and he turns….

There are three things that amaze me— no, four things that I don’t understand:
how an eagle glides through the sky, how a snake slithers on a rock,
how a ship navigates the ocean, how a man loves a woman.” – Proverbs 30:18-19(NLT)

The ceremony was held across the street at Indian Rocks Baptist Church.  The church, still decorated for Christmas, with its holiday lights, was the perfect location for a the celebration of what God had joined together.  Both sets of parents gave testimony during the day of the prayers that covered Renee and Brian, long before they met, and of the ways they can clearly see the hand of God in the way he brought them together and in the way He remains an vital part of Brian and Renee’s relationship.  Brian and Renee sang the theme song from Tangled, “I see the light”  as they lit the unity candle symbolizing the two becoming one.

The reception followed at the church where surrounded by family and friends they celebrated what the Lord had done in their lives in bringing them together.  After the reception, Brian and Renee requested we follow them to Indian Rocks Beach for a couple of shots as the sun set.

Brian and Renee, thanks for  inviting us into your family and for allowing us to capture moments in time from your special day.  Below are some of our favorites.

“And at last I see the light
And it’s like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it’s like the sky is new
And it’s warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted” – Tangled – I see the light
