Family Reunion

We had the opportunity to go on our first camping trip of the summer this last weekend with extended family. The theme for the weekend focused on our “Godly Heritage”. Rosanne and I are grateful to those that have gone before us and pray that those who come behind us will find us faithful.

The trip started out a little later than we hoped for. I was concerned that we make the 7hr trip before the predicted thunderstorms would arrive. Thankfully, we were able to setup the tent before the evening showers. The predicted storm never formed and we enjoyed a peaceful night around the picnic table drinking coffee and talking late into the night.

Saturday morning came early, and during breakfast, the torrential rainfall arrived as well. We enjoyed the morning together in the shelter of the lodge and were excited to see the sun appear above the mountains of Western Virginia a little before lunch.

Thankfully the rain held off for the rest of the weekend and the tents were able to dry out before our trip home on Sunday. We enjoyed times at the pool, kids activities, singing and sharing with one another the faithfulness of the Lord.
